Welcome to Knight Chase! If you've never played chess before, don't worry. The knight's movement is simple once you understand it—and it's the ONLY move you need to know for this game.
The L-Shape Movement
The knight moves in an "L" shape:
- 2 squares in one direction (up, down, left, or right)
- 1 square perpendicular (to the side)
You can also think of it as 1 square first, then 2 squares to the side. The result is always the same L-shape!

How to Move in Knight Chase
- When it's your turn, see the highlighted squares
- Each highlighted square is a valid L-shaped move
- Tap any highlighted square to move there
- The square you left becomes blocked (X mark)
💡 Remember: You can NEVER land on a blocked (X) square again. The board shrinks every turn!
How to Win
There are two ways to win Knight Chase:
- Capture: Land on the square your opponent is standing on
- Trap: Force your opponent into a position with no valid moves
Key Properties of the Knight
- Color Switching: Every move, the knight lands on a different colored square
- 8 Maximum Moves: From the center, knights have 8 options. Near edges, fewer
- Can't Be Blocked: The knight "jumps" over pieces, but in Knight Chase, only blocked squares matter
Beginner Tips
- Stay in the center: You have more options from central squares
- Avoid edges early: Corners and edges limit your movement
- Watch the blocked squares: Don't trap yourself!
- Grab power-ups: Mystery boxes (?) give you special abilities
